Itai Lavie is a ceramic artist based in Brooklyn, NY, working closely with traditional Korean pottery forms. His practice focuses on large-scale wheel-thrown vessels and kitchenware, shaped by techniques honed through apprenticeships with Korean master ceramicists.

Guided by a deep interest in form, process, and cultural memory, he often uses soda and wood firing to bring texture and atmosphere to the surface.

Currently, he creates work in his Brooklyn studio and teaches Korean wheel-throwing workshops and masterclasses in New York City and across Europe.

Work is primarily commission and inquiry-based, created in close conversation with collectors, resturants, stores, and galleries.
